PMCT ensures, through the accreditation process, appropriate department-based education opportunities within each clinical term. In addition, PMCT provides a weekly JMO Intern Education Program, as well as clinical skills training sessions.
Session content is linked to the Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors. The RHH offers a range of tutorials and education sessions including intern tutorials, AMC clinical exam preparation tutorials and Basic Physician Training tutorials.
PMCT organises weekly tutorials specifically designed for interns, which cover a wide range of relevant and interesting topics. These are typically presented by senior staff, consultants and specialists from the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Tutorial attendance for Interns is classified as protected teaching time.
A calendar of scheduled intern tutorials for the term is provided by the PMCT team.
A wide number of short courses and clinical skills training events are offered by the Royal Hobart Hospital on a regular basis. Attendance at these courses is open to all junior doctors and registrars, subject to approval from their department.
These include events such as:
Basic Assessment & Support in Intensive Care (BASIC Course)
Emergency Paediatric Course
School of Medicine Short Courses
Information about future scheduled courses will be posted here when available.
