Education Calendar

The RHH Education Calendars are a set of cloud based, online updatable calendars, for education sessions around the hospital which allow for customised reminders to be set up by you!

It is a service by Google which allows for the users to subscribe using other services (including Google Calendar, Outlook.com, or iPhone). Some of these services (Google Calendar and Outlook.com) can be synchronised with other types of phone or devices to allow for instant notification of changes, and for pre-set reminders to be sent to just prior to relevant education sessions.

We are currently running a trial of 5 calendars, with plans to expand to every education session in the hospital. The 1st round of calendars (and their links) are listed below.

Medical Grand Rounds

A series of lectures with the aim of keeping hospital staff abreast with current medical practises and projects around the RHH. Preceded by a delicious lunch, these lectures are open to all.

BPT Tutorials

A series of tutorials aimed at and run for the Basic Physician Trainees. Generally held in the Tutorial Room of the Residents’ Quarters, these tutorials are generally run by Consultants with an interest in the topic. Accompanied by a delicious lunch.

These tutorials are open to interns and residents with an interest in either Physician training or the topic being presented.   If you are not a current BPT trainee, please email Katie on the below email.

Intern Tutorials

A series of tutorials aimed at interns intended to provide introduction to clinically important topics. Held in the Tutorial Room of the Residents’ Quarters, these sessions are run by consultants or senior registrars with an interest in the topic. Accompanied by a delicious lunch.

Although aimed at interns, residents  with an interest in the topic being presented may to attend.

Acute Care Program

A series of tutorials and simulation sessions aimed at residents with an interest in acute care, intended to provide education and simulation experience with acute care issues such as deteriorating patients, emergent situations, and ALS scenarios.

ICU Teaching

A series of tutorials and lectures intended to provide ongoing education to doctors currently working in Intensive Care. These sessions are open to doctors from outside of Intensive Care with an interest in the specialty or the topic being presented.

Metabolic Meeting

Metabolic meeting is a hierarchy-free networking event funded by the member-run RMO society. It occurs weekly on Thursdays at 10:30am. A light morning tea is provided for society members. If any doctors are not members but would like to join and therefore access the services the RMO Society offers, they can email This email address is being protected from spambots.
